(H)Être

Chalet de la Treille, Troistorrents (VS) — September 20 – October 12, 2025

When the centuries-old beech tree of Val-d'Illiez had to be felled in autumn 2024, Brindusa Burrows began a sensitive and poetic journey to recreate and honor the essence of the tree. Through engraving, painting, sculpture, and audiovisual media, the exhibition traces a bond that transcends matter and resonates across an entire community.

"I create this work in a time of polycrisis. I chose perception, sensoriality, and slowness. I want the viewer to pause, not to decode but to feel the Tree. To perceive what remains unsayable."

Organized by the Municipality of Troistorrents, with the support of the Val-d'Illiez Municipality, Forestry Service and Mobile Sawmill, and the Champéry Cultural Service.

Mulino Novo di Erbé

Associazione Antiche Contrade, Verona, Italy — October–November 2024

A residency at the Mulino Novo di Erbé, working in situ with local plant material. Leaves and branches gathered from the surrounding land became a series of monotypes — precursors to Devenir humain / Becoming Human. Alongside them, Il Portone, a large-scale text-based installation, developed directly across sheets of paper hung on the studio wall.
